About Turn2us
One in five people among us, over 14 million in total across the UK, are unable to thrive because of a lack of money. Turn2us exists to help people struggling to make ends meet.
We do this by giving direct financial help through our own charitable grants; supporting people to increase their income through benefits, grants and other support; and by highlighting ways to reduce essential costs.
About the role
Unexpected illness, job loss or relationship breakdown can turn any of our lives upside down, leading to loss of income, loss of housing, and financial crisis for any of us and our families. More than 22% of us are currently in poverty, including a shameful 33% of all children.
That's why Turn2us, a national charity helping people when times get tough, is looking for a Volunteer Programme Manager with the skills and energy to take on a big challenge - to develop a network of volunteers and action groups supporting people to maximise their income through benefits, charitable grants and other support.
You'll be the leader amplifying the use and impact of our helpline, benefits calculator, online grant search, grant giving programmes and information by other groups and organisations. You'll work closely with our referrals programme towards the long-term goal of ensuring that everyone who calls us gets some sort of help and support.
We believe that no-one in the UK should live in poverty - we hope you feel the same.
The postholder will report to the Head of Information and Helpline and has line management responsibility for one member of staff.
We welcome applicants who have experience working in a volunteer led organisation and who can demonstrate excellent strong planning and administration.
Please read the Volunteer Programme Manager job description and person specification
